TDA Performing Company

This Is Where dancers are made.

Performing Company is more than extra classes. It is the experience that changes how your dancer carries themselves — on stage, in school, and in life. Five tracks. One community. A season your family will talk about for years.

Why Company Changes Everything

Three things happen to Company dancers.

Every one of them is real, measurable, and worth every hour of rehearsal.

🌱

Transformation

A recreational dancer learns choreography. A Company dancer learns how to perform — presence, precision, resilience under pressure. The stage reveals something in a child that a classroom never can. Parents consistently describe it as a turning point.

🤝

Belonging

Company creates a team. Not metaphorically — a real group of kids who count on each other, celebrate each other, and show up for each other week after week. The friendships made in Company are the ones that last. Ask any family who has been through it.

🏆

Credential

Multi-show performance experience, convention training, and competitive exposure builds a dance résumé that matters — for high school programs, college auditions, and life skills that transfer far beyond dance. Company dancers stand out. Consistently.

Five Paths. One Company.

Find the track that fits your dancer.

Every track is part of the same Performing Company family — the same community, the same standards, the same pride on show night.

Petite Dancers Entry Track

Our youngest performers take their dancing to the next level. Petite Dancers experience the full pride of Company — rehearsal, performance, and belonging — in an environment built exactly for them.

Youngest performers Performance season Full Company community
Starburst Dancers Growing Track

Designed for dancers entering 2nd or 3rd grade — whether it is their first year in Performing Company or a step up from Petite. Starburst is where young dancers find their stage voice and start building real performance instincts.

2nd–3rd grade First or second year Company Stage confidence
Pre-Company Bridge Track

Pre-Company dancers participate in the Performing Company Gala, the Banquet, and the June Recital. This is the bridge between recreational dance and the full competitive experience — serious training, real performance stakes.

Gala + Banquet June Recital Bridge to competitive
Hip-Hop Crew Specialty Track

Hip-Hop Crew is a standalone specialty track — or a powerful add-on to any other Company level. Dancers can join Crew exclusively, or combine it with additional groups for a richer season. High energy, high skill, unmistakable presence.

Standalone or add-on Specialty discipline Combinable with other tracks
Competitive Track Full Company

The full-company experience. Open to any dancer in 2nd grade and above who wants multiple performance opportunities — conventions, competitions, galas, and recitals. This is the track where dancers discover what they are truly capable of. The training is demanding. The growth is undeniable. The memories are permanent.

Questions

What families ask us most.

Most tracks are open enrollment with placement guidance from our instructors — no formal audition required to get started. The Competitive Track involves a placement conversation to ensure the right fit. If you are unsure which track is right for your dancer, contact your location and we will help you find the right starting point.
Yes — and it happens more than you might think. Many of our strongest Company dancers started as recreational students who were ready for something more. The Petite, Starburst, and Pre-Company tracks are specifically designed to be great first-year Company experiences. You do not need prior competitive training. You just need a dancer who is ready to commit.
Convention and competition fees are separate from monthly tuition and vary by track, number of events, and the season's competition schedule. They are a real part of the Company investment — and we believe in being upfront about it. For full fee details and typical ranges by track, talk to your studio location directly. We will walk you through exactly what to expect before you commit.
The Summer Intensive is a level-specific training program that prepares Company dancers for the season ahead. Requirements vary by track — your studio will walk you through what is expected for your dancer's specific level. Intensive tuition is billed separately from your monthly rate.
Recreational plans — VIP and À La Carte — are designed for families who want consistent weekly dance in a supportive, fun environment. Company is a higher-commitment, higher-reward experience: more rehearsal time, more performance opportunities, convention and competition exposure, and the kind of focused training that builds real skill over a full season. Many Company dancers also take a recreational class alongside their Company track. Compare VIP and À La Carte plans →
Our Dance Positive study — a longitudinal mood research platform developed in partnership with the University of Pennsylvania — has recorded over 53,000 mood measurements from children in dance classes. The findings consistently show a significant positive relationship between class frequency and emotional wellbeing in young dancers. Higher weekly engagement — exactly the pattern Company creates — is associated with the strongest outcomes. Read the Dance Positive research →
