Update on Covid-19 3/12/2020

Dear Dance Families,

In light of the rapidly evolving Covid-19 situation, I’m writing to give you some guidance on our plans at Tiffany’s Dance Academy.

As of this moment, we haven’t heard of any local public schools closing near any of our 7 locations.

If and when public schools begin to close in your area, we will do the same at Tiffany’s Dance Academy. This is the difficult, but responsible thing to do for our society as we all make the necessary sacrifices to slow the spread of Covid-19. The health and safety of our dancers, their families and our employees are always our paramount concern.

It will be extraordinarily difficult from a business standpoint. Our instructors and administrators could be out of work for an estimated 2-3 weeks.

Any missed classes during this potential shut-down will be made up during the summer or you may use the value of the missed classes as credits for summer camps, or next season’s classes.

To ward off the boredom and loneliness that might occur during a potential 2-3 week “social distancing” period, we are working on live video streaming some of our dance classes and lessons. This will be a great way to retain technique and stay in touch with your dance class friends and instructors. We’ll provide more information on video streaming later next week.

This is a temporary situation and it will get better soon. We’ve only seen a few families decide to drop their classes. It’s our sincere hope that you not drop your dance classes just yet, and continue your participation at TDA through the end of the season so that we may continue providing important dance education to our students, as well as employment and health insurance benefits to our 30 dance instructors and 12 administrators. Our hope is that the virus subsides by late April and we’ll be able to have our annual recital as scheduled. Again, any missed classes will result in a make-up class or tuition credit to be used later.

Tickets for our recitals go on sale next week. We ask that you purchase your tickets as usual and understand that a full refund shall be granted should the event be canceled or rescheduled to a time that doesn’t work for you and your family.

In the meantime, we will continue our diligent efforts to provide a safe and clean environment for all of our dancers and their families. Our motto is “Clean Hands are Happy Hands”.

Thanks so much for your continued loyalty and we look forward to a return to normal dance life in the near future.
