Notes:
Parents who are volunteering should establish a “student” account in our online registration system. This will allow us to send emails and communicate directly with volunteers.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

Backstage Volunteers

Your job is to supervise your specific class. Nutcracker Backstage Volunteers stay backstage with their class for the entirety of the show and will assist with the dancers before and after they perform.  They will be able to watch the class perform from the side of the stage.  Nutcracker Backstage Volunteers do not need to purchase a ticket.  Dancing Holiday Magic Backstage Volunteers stay with their class before they perform until we line them up to go to the stage.  Volunteers are then released to go to their seats where they will watch their class perform.  Dancing Holiday Magic Backstage Volunteers will need to purchase a ticket.  Tip: bring fun, quiet things to keep your kids busy (i.e. iPads, iTouches, coloring books and crayons, memory games, go fish cards etc.)! This will make them happy and your life easier! You will also need a blanket for your class to sit on while they wait backstage.  Register for this job at your studio with your Studio Manager.

Ushers/Ticket Takers

Please arrive a half-hour before the performance! Meet the house manager in the theater lobby. We usually open the doors to the theater about 20-30 minutes prior to the start of the show. Ushers help seat people before and during the show and also ensure that late arrivals to the theater are seated between (not during) dances. Ushers also monitor illegal video and flash photography and gently remind patrons that videotaping and flash photography are not permitted during the performances. Bring your own small flashlight so you can read seat numbers in the dark.

Concession Sales Volunteer

Help sell baked goods, flowers, and drinks to recital patrons and performers prior to the show and at intermission.

Baked Goods Suppliers

Bring 24 individually wrapped (2 large per baggy) chocolate chip, oatmeal, or your favorite yummy cookies, brownies or other treats. Bring your baked goods to the concession table 1 hour prior to your performance. Please pre-wrap or baggy ALL cookies in groups of 2! We will be selling each package for $1.00! Pre-wrapping these will make life much easier on the concession volunteers and more sanitary for the consumers.

Water and Soda Suppliers

Bring 1 case (24 cans or bottles) of water or soda to your studio between November 26-December 1.
