Ticket Sales

Tickets for the June concert will go on sale on June 9^th from 8am to 10am.

The family of each dancer will be allowed to purchase 6 tickets combined for all three shows. Unfortunately, the Livermore High Theater only seats 456 people per show. We hate to limit seats, but have no other choice. If you have two children in the show your family is entitled to purchase 12 tickets. You may buy tickets in any number for whatever show you choose, as well as break them up over the three shows.

Tickets will go on sale on June 9^th at 8am at the studio. The tickets are first come first serve, and are general seating. Ticket price is $8.50 each for all persons. The ticket price is to cover the enormous costs of producing the concert.

Tickets CANNOT be purchased before June 9^th at 8am.
Tickets CAN be purchased any time after June 9^th until June 23^rd.
Unsold tickets will be released again on June 25^th.
Every child’s family is entitled to purchase 6 tickets for all three shows combined.
Certain shows CAN sell out on Ticket Day. If you can’t be there you can send someone authorized to purchase tickets in your absence.
You CAN give or sell your child’s extra tickets to other families.
You DO NOT need to purchase a ticket if you are working backstage.
All tickets are $8.50!

Picture Days

Picture Days are June 2 & 3.

June 2^nd will go from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.

June 3^rd will go 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Specific times for every group are on the last pages of this newsletter.

All dancers need to arrive for their picture time completely dressed with hair and make-up done. There is little room in the studio for dressing, and we have to make sure to stay on our time schedule. Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes and no later than 5 minutes for your picture time. If you are late, the group pictures will be taken without you. Even if you are not planning on purchasing pictures, please come to Picture Day so that we have a group picture to hang on the studio wall. Prices and package information will be given at Picture Day. Enclosed is the Picture Day schedule. Make sure to locate your child’s class day and time to find out what time to be there for pictures.

Performing Company Meeting and Auditions

An extensive informational meeting regarding the TDA Performing Company will be held on June 6th at 7pm. Meeting is at 2844 Chablis Way. Directions from TDA: Take Vasco to First Street. Take First Street to N. Livermore. Take a Left on N. Livermore. Take a Right on Chateau. Follow the street as it curves around. Turn Right on Claret. Turn Right into Chablis Court.

It’s almost that time of year again! TDA Performing Company auditions for 2001-2002 will be held on June 9^th at 12:30 p.m. All dancers ages 6 and up may audition. TDA Performing Company members are required to take Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Rehearsal. Company members perform at local venues as well as compete throughout the Bay area. If you have questions regarding TDA Performing Company please direct them to Miss Tiffany at tiffany@tiffanydance.com.

Summer Session and Camps

Don’t let that technique get away from you this summer! Summer is a great time for dancers to try different types of dancing. We are offering BOTH a “Special Summer Class Schedule”, as well as many different fun camps. You may participate in as many camps and classes as you choose.

TDA summer session begins on July 16 and runs through August 17^th.
An abbreviated class schedule will run from July 16^th through August 10^th.
Camps will run July 16^th through August 17^th.

Tri-Valley Summer Dance Intensive – Advanced Level – July 16- July 27^th.
Summer Blast Camp – Ages 6-8 – Beg. /Int. Level – July 30- August 3^rd.

Disney Dance Camp – Ages 3-5 – August 6- 10 #1, August 13-17 #2.

June Concert Volunteers Meeting

A meeting for all June concert “Backstage” volunteers will be held on May 30^th at 7pm. The meeting will be held at 2844 Chablis Court. Directions from TDA Studio:

June Concert Important Times

There are THREE shows! Read the following carefully.

June 28,29,30
June 28^th, Dress Rehearsal – Act I 9-12pm, Act II 1-4pm.
June 29^th, Showtime 7pm. Be there, 5:45pm.
June 30^th, Showtime 1pm. Be there, 11:45am
June 30^th, Showtime 7pm. Be there, 5:45pm.

Every dancer is in all three shows except:

Tuesday, Twinkle Babies 10 a.m.
Thursday, Twinkle Babies 10 a.m.
Saturday, Twinkle Babies 11:30 a.m.

Dress Rehearsal is absolutely mandatory! Those absent from Dress Rehearsal WILL NOT perform.

Those dancers in Twinkle Babies classes (ages 2-3) perform only ONE show.

Tues. 10am = Saturday 7 p.m.
Thurs. 10am = Friday 7 p.m.
Sat. 11:30 = Saturday 1 p.m.

Make sure to purchase your tights form Encore Dancewear in Pleasanton if you haven’t already done so. Staff at Encore will know which tights you are required to have, just let them know your child’s class day and time.

Dance Specifics: All special instructions for costume, hair and make-up will be given to all dancers prior to the show. Make sure to stay current on all concert information by asking your instructor if you don’t know.

Lastly, there will be a JUNE CONCERT SURVIVAL PACKET given to all dancers in June. All information regarding the concert will be in your packet. Make sure to watch out for this important information packet!

Concert Video

TDA has hired a professional videographer to tape all three shows. Tapes of the shows can be purchased at $25 per tape. No video cameras or flash photography will be allowed inside the theatre during all three shows. *Parents who want to take pictures or home video may do so at the Dress Rehearsal.

June Concert Post Party

There will be a pizza party on June 30^th following the concert at Melo’s Pizza in Livermore. Please join us to celebrate TDA’s first annual concert!

Classical Ballet School

TDA announces the addition of TDA Classical Ballet School under the direction of Laura Sefchovich of the Boston Ballet. Placement auditions will be held for ages 6 and up on June 10^th at 10am. All dancers interested in taking ballet classes for summer or Fall 2001 must attend. If you cannot attend, a private audition must be set up before you can register for ballet classes. Additional information regarding the TDA Ballet School is contained in the back of this newsletter.

Text Box: Laura Sefchovich - Received her early training at La Escuela Nacional de Danza in Mexico City. She continued her training in California under Elizabeth Neumann, Karen Millar, Gloria Mohr, and Marie Stinnett where she studied Jazz. She also studied with Benjamin Harkavy, Kristine Elliott, the Boston Ballet School, The Royal Academy of Dancing, and The Boston Conservatory of Music Dance and Theatre. Laura has danced with local companies such as Santa Clara Ballet, Margaret Wingrove Dance Company, and Mark Foehringer Dance Project, and has worked with choreographers Lawrence Pech, Charles Anderson, Bill Evans, and Benjamin Harkavy. Laura recently made her debut with Moving Arts Dance Collective. She has been on the faculty of The School of Western Ballet since 1996, and joined the faculty of Teen Dance Company in October of 2000. Laura began her teaching career under the direction of Karen Millar and Gloria Mohr at the age of 18, and has been teaching ever since.

TDA Announces Plans to Open East Avenue Location!

We are very excited to announce Tiffany’s Dance Academy’s second location. The East Avenue facility (4046 East Avenue) is 3200 square feet with enough room for a spacious lobby, three studios. We signed the lease on April 11^th and we anticipate the GRAND OPENING on July 16^th(just in time for the Summer Dance Intensive). Sign up for the Summer Dance Intensive to be the first to experience the new studio.

Help us grow! Any continuing student who engages a friend to sign up for a month or more of classes will receive $5 discount off the next month’s tuition. If you bring in more than one friend you receive $5 off for every new dancer registered. Make sure they mention your name when they fill out their student registration form to receive your discount.
