BAD
COMPANY
Introducing - Bay Area Dance Company
Tiffany’s Dance
Academy is excited to announce that it has been chosen as the new “home” to
BAD COMPANY – the Bay Area’s newest and most exciting Dance Company.
According to Steffon Long, the Artistic Director of BAD COMPANY, “Dance is for
the dancer and the audience member the physical/ kinesthetic link between
education and entertainment. BAD COMPANY will work on as many levels as
possible to strengthen those links and enhance the bond that the experience of
dance can bring to all members of the community that we strive to serve.”
BAD Company’s mission
is to promote the advantages that young people enjoy by supervised
participation in a well structured dance program…especially a dance program
affiliated with a professional or semi-professional dance company based at a
school which provides comprehensive training in the disciplines of classical
ballet, jazz, tap, modern dance and the related disciplines of music, painting
, sculpture, photography, set, lighting and costume design and film making.
BAD COMPANY will bring rich cultural rewards to our community.
The primary goal of
BAD COMPANY is to provide affordable tuition to young people in the
aforementioned disciplines while simultaneously providing the communities that
BAD Company serves with low cost performances, lecture demonstrations, open
rehearsals, informational workshops and performances in all public community
events.
Host Families Needed
One of BAD Company’s
first goals will be to engage eight or ten pre-professional dancers who have
completed their high school educations and will come to BAD COMPANY as
pre-professional dancers to complete their formal dance training and form the
corps of dancers responsible for our community outreach programs that will
bring dance to the community agencies that we aim to serve: schools, community
centers, senior centers, hospitals, etc. If you’d like information on being a
host family for one of these dancers please contact Steffon Long at (925)
447-5299.
Tiffany’s Dance
Academy is hosting an informational gathering at the Livermore dance studios
on March 8th from 6pm – 9pm for community members who want to learn
more and who are interested in serving on BAD COMPANY’S Board. You are
invited to come watch students in rehearsal and enjoy wine, appetizers, and an
informative discussion with Steffon Long. We are excited to share BAD
COMPANY’S goals and dreams with you.
TDA
DAY
All-in-One
Mark April 24th in your
calendars! Seriously…do it right now! In our never-ending quest to simplify
the lives of our dancers (and dancer’s parents), we have come up with an idea
that is sure to please you. TDA DAY will be awesome because you’ll be able
to…
1) Buy your
June Concert tickets
2) Register
for Fall classes
3) Purchase
dancewear at a discount for the upcoming season
…all in one day. From 9 a.m.
thru 3 p.m. the studio will be abuzz with administrative geniuses who will
efficiently assist you with selecting the perfect tickets for the June
Concert, as well as discussing available classes for next season. Best of
all, when you register for next year on TDA DAY, your registration fee will be
given back to you in the form of a coupon to be used at our brand new
dancewear store – to be located in the lobby of the dance studio. In fact,
the GRAND OPENING of the dancewear store is…you guessed it, April 24th!!!
TIFFANY’S DANCEWEAR
Shoes Tights Leotard’s- for less…
Did you ever wonder
why you needed to drive to Pleasanton to buy ballet shoes - or brave the
masses at Target to pick out a scrawny nylon leotard that falls apart in a
couple weeks - or take your precious little jewel of a child to Payless to be
fitted for ballet shoes by someone who does not even know what ballet is?
Well, you won’t need to do that anymore. We are converting
half of our lobby in Livermore to a dancewear store! We will stock ballet,
tap, and jazz shoes, plus tights, leotards and skirts. ‘Who will run this
store’-you think to yourself? Well, initially Tiffany’s husband, Paul, will
be “Ballet Boy” once again. Yes, it is true; “Leotard Man” will don his Al
Bundy outfit and resume his career as dance shoe salesman extraordinaire.
You may not know
this, but Paul and Tiffany met while Paul was running his mom’s dancewear
store in Arizona. Paul is proud of the thousands of successful shoe fittings
he achieved from 1996-1998 and he says, “all my life, I wanted to do something
that really mattered…and you know, nothing matters like a well-fitted ballet
shoe…except, perhaps, a perfectly fitted pointe shoe with just the right shank
strength and vamp.”
Paul’s passion for
“the perfect fit”, while a tad odd, is a special bonus for young dancers.
Paul says “we are also passionate about fair prices, great-friendly service,
and 100% customer satisfaction. Our long term relationship with our dancers
and dancer’s families is so important that we will not jeopardize that
relationship for any reason.”
Paul has come up with
an exciting “Value Menu” of items all dancers need. You’ll be able to
purchase exactly what you need depending on the class(es) you are taking and
when you purchase everything at once, you’ll save an additional 15% off of our
already lower than retail prices.
In early April, you
will receive a Value Menu order form and all the information you need to
pre-order your dancewear supplies. On TDA DAY (April 24th) if
you’ve pre-ordered dance supplies, your items will be available to pick up in
Studio A. This will save you valuable time and money and ensure you have
exactly what you need to continue dancing during the Summer and Fall.
