It’s Time to Order Costumes!!!

And we’re not talking about Halloween…view your costume online

FIRST DEADLINE - OCTOBER 13TH - SAVE $5 PER COSTUME BY ORDERING BEFORE OCTOBER 13TH.

Your dance instructors will measure your dancers in class and provide you with the information you need to order your costume.  Measurements occur the week of October 1-7. (Note: Pleasanton dancers will be measured starting Tuesday, October 2nd).

There’s an old saying that goes something like this:  Prior Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance.  It’s something we live by here at Tiffany’s Dance Academy.  The reason - we know we have the ultimate public final exam at the end of the year.  The quality of our instructors and their ability to teach will be on display for all to see at the annual recital in June.

Part of this exam concerns the costumes that each dancer will wear on stage.  Part of our final exam is actually delivering costumes to each and every dancer on time and in great condition.  We are at the mercy of costume houses, folks.  Costume houses are manufacturers of costumes and they publish their catalogs in early September and ship them to every dance studio in the country.  We’ve learned from experience that only a handful of these companies manufacture costumes that are up to our standards.

We also live by another saying here at TDA.  “It pays to be a winner!”  Why?  Because, think about this…if there are only a handful of decent costume companies in the United States servicing every single dance studio in the country, then who has the best chance of actually receiving their costumes on time?  The studios who order first, of course!  Consider this: costume houses don’t order their fabric until the orders have been received from the dance studios.  This risky business means that costume houses can run out of a particular fabric before manufacturing all of the costumes they’ve taken orders for.  This is bad for them, bad for us, and bad for you.  It happens all the time.

To avoid this problem, we are one of the first studios in the country to order costumes…virtually guaranteeing on-time delivery and all but eliminating the risk of a fabric shortage.  We do this by allowing our customers to order their costumes on our website which saves our customers time and money (5% discount for online orders), and helps our administrative staff accurately track exactly what needs to be ordered and when in order to receive everything on time.

You might not think of costuming for dance studios as a race, but we sure do.  We know that our success depends on this incredibly important, seemingly simple task.  Do us a favor and place your orders as soon as you can.  You’ll be glad you did when your dancer receives her / his costume in class, on time, in great condition, and with no hassles!

You can view your costume online, but make sure your dancer has been measured in class by TDA Staff before you select a size!
