Clean Hands Are Happy Hands

Hi there Dancers and Parents of Tiffany’s Dance Academy!

Attending regular dance classes helps boost your child’s immunity, health and well-being. With the growing news of the Coronavirus in the US, we wanted to reach out and address the situation and help alleviate any concern you may have in regards to attending dance classes.

The California Department of Public Health (the Public Health Department) understands there are concerns about novel coronavirus, and understandably so. Although coronaviruses are a group of viruses that aren’t new, this is a new type of coronavirus and we are still learning about it. However, the health risk to the general public in California remains low. California is carefully assessing the situation as it evolves.

The California Department of Public Health recommends the following steps to prevent the spread of all respiratory viruses:

The California Department of Public Health is not recommending the cancellation of public events. There is no evidence of sustained person-to-person transmission of the virus in in the United States. The health risk from COVID-19 to the general public remains low at this time.

As always, if you or your dancer have a fever or Flu like symptoms, we ask that you do not come to dance at the risk of spreading any illness to the other dancers in class.

These are the steps we are taking to ensure your dancer’s health and well-being:

-Everyone will need to wash their hands or apply hand sanitizer before they enter our studio lobby.

-Dancers will apply hand sanitizer as they enter the dance room.

-We are temporarily suspending the use of all props (Bears, Sparkle Dust, Hula Hoops, and Wands.)

-Our studios are cleaned every night by a professional cleaning service. They regularly disinfect main surfaces of the studios.

-The dance rooms will be disinfected between every class by teachers and admin staff.

-Dancers will be limiting contact with one another during class (no hugging, holding hands, or Choo Choo Trains.)

-Teachers will also limit contact with dancers (no hugging, holding hands, or Choo Choo Trains.)

-We will have tissues readily available for anyone that may need them to cover a lingering cough or common sneeze.

-We ask that you don’t allow your children or siblings to touch glass doors, windows, and watch windows.

-Please also keep items from home, toys, books, etc. out of the studio. Only dance bags with dance shoes etc. are allowed.

-Also, we ask that dancers not share drinks and that all food be consumed outside of the studio.

Please know that our dancer’s health and well-being is our top priority. At this time, the steps we are taking are verified by public health organizations to help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. Though the risk of the Coronavirus is currently low, we are doing our part in keeping our dancers as healthy and active as possible.
