Rockhopper
Dance~ a Seattle, Washington modern dance collective comprised of seven
artists. Throughout its seven year history, the company pursued its goals
through self-productions (6 full-evening concerts), community performances,
choreographic commissions and educational outreach workshops. In addition to
producing their individual choreography, the company commissioned works by Wade
Madsen, Michelle Miller, Paul D. Mosley, Mark J. Kane and Tom Truss. Notable
recognitions include: King County Special Projects funding grants, Northwest
New Works Festival produced by On the Boards and toured with the King County
Touring Network. For five years the company produced On the Side, an
annual series created to highlight established and emerging artists from the
Northwest community. On the Side created a much needed venue for a
cumulative total of 150 dance, theater and music artists to have their work
presented in a professional production and get paid for their work.
