Dancing Since: 1987
“Sometimes I hurt because I dance. Other times I dance because I hurt. Either way, dancing fixes it all.”
A bay area native, Tyler has been studying dance for more than 20 years. Before leaving for college, Tyler was trained in classical ballet as well as jazz and was a member of her high school dance team, Varsity Pom Squad and exclusive CanCan team at San Ramon Valley High School. When in college at Chico State University Tyler danced for Chico State’s dance team “Expressions” as well as Hype Dance Studios All-Star Jazz team and All-Star Hip Hop team directed by Sarah Blakely.
After Chico State, Tyler moved back to the Bay Area to pursue her profession dance career while teaching for Universal Dance Association(UDA). With UDA Tyler has had the opportunity to teach summer camps to high school and middle school teams up and down California’s West Coast as well as neighboring states including New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and as far North as Alaska. Tyler was also a hand selected Universal Dance Association dancer chosen to represent Varsity Brands in India for the Indian Premier League cricket tournament that was held in South Africa. Tyler no longer teaches summer camps for UDA, instead now judges regional dance competitions for Varsity Brands and private coaches high school and all-star teams.
After Universal Dance Association Tyler was a member of the AFL’s San Jose SaberCats profession dance team the “SaberKittens” where she was a line captain for one year. Tyler then danced for the NBA’s Sacramento Kings dance team the “Sacramento Kings Dancers”.
