“Let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action”
“My goal as a teacher is to share my love and passion for dance, and in doing so, help students discover what dance means to them.”
Rachel began her dance training as a small child at the Southland Ballet Academy in Southern California. Her training led to a company membership with Festival Ballet Theater, performing as a soloist in ballets such as Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker. Later Rachel received a scholarship with Defore Dance Center, training in all disciplines of dance. After graduating the scholarship program, Rachel went on to dance with various local dance companies including BARE Dance Company and Jazz Spectrum.
Rachel has also had the opportunity to perform as a dance soloist in The Glory of Easter at The Crystal Cathedral, and assist the choreographer as dance captain in the production of Creation. She has been seen throughout Southern California performing as an actress, singer and dancer at Civic Light Operas and regional theaters.
Rachel has taught adults and children of all ages at Defore Dance Center, The California Conservatory of the Arts, and various dance and musical theater schools throughout Orange County.
Her favorite dance moment is performing onstage opposite ABT Principal Dancer Julie Kent as Malificent in Sleeping Beauty.
