Chuck Rodriguez has been dancing for well over 10 years now. His only training for the first 4 years of dancing, was memorizing videos off of MTV and teaching them to a few of his friends in Oakley, CA where he grew up. He performed in all of the school talent shows, County fairs, and anywhere else that would allow him to perform.
In 1996, Chuck auditioned for a Hip Hop Dance Group/Youth Outreach Program called Culture Shock. The group was based in San Francisco but performed all over the Bay Area for such events as the San Francisco 49er’s and NCAA Woman’s Basketball Championship half time shows. He also performed for many Elementary Schools, High Schools and Colleges. Chuck also traveled on an East Coast tour with the Doug Banks Morning Show. The line up included Queen Latifah, B2K, Mario, Mystikal and India Arie. He also appeared in a televised commercial for the radio station Wild 94.9.
Two years later, Chuck began teaching Hip Hop classes at Dance Evolutions Dance Studio in Oakley, CA. He was an instructor for 5 years and attended several National competition per year. During this time, Chuck grew into a choreographer. He received many first place awards and was recognized for outstanding choreography by many of the judges.
In 2002, Chuck was offered a position as a Production Assistant for J&J Popstarz. Chuck traveled throughout the U.S. with the workshop and assisted in teaching routines to thousands of kids. After teaching a workshop at Amador Dance Xtreme, Chuck began teaching there regularly and continued to teach award-winning routines for 4 years.
Now that Chuck has been teaching in the Bay Area for over a decade, the demand for his choreography has dramatically grown. He currently choreographs competition routines and teaches Master Classes for High Schools, Cheerleading Squads and Dance studios. He has also returned to Culture Shock Oakland as the Co-Artistic Director and is performing all over the Bay Area.
